This is intended to be a classic New Zealand Sauv Blanc, top quality at an affordable price. The alcohol content is 12.5%.

The Picton Bay Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2022 Tasting Notes

The color is very pale wheat yellow. The nose is not shy the aromas jump out of the glass from a foot away, there is green apple, melon, peach, ripe pear, a grassy note, followed by pineapple, and guava. The Picton Bay Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2022 has a medium mouthfeel with strong flavors and excellent balance.

This Sauvignon Blanc tastes like peach, apple, melon, and a little spice, along with tropical fruit and a hint of orange blossom honey. The mid-palate mirrors the main body of the wine but does add nectarine, Anjou pear, and tart lime. The acidity is very well controlled, and value-priced New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc can get a little spikey, but this one gets it right.
