The Kirkland Signature Ti Point Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2025 is a Costco exclusive that should be found for around seven dollars. It was produced for Costco by Ti Point Winery.

The Story

Kirkland Signature Ti Point Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2025

Ti Point Winery was started in the 1990s with a vineyard on the Matakana Coast. They have since acquired vineyards in both the North and South Islands. They also source grapes from independent vineyards in Marlborough.

Ti Point stopped updating its wine information in 2020, but we can guess the main points. The Kirkland Signature Ti Point Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2025 is a young wine designed to be enjoyed sooner rather than later, with no need to age.

The typical NZ Sauvignon Blanc in this price range uses blocks of grapes from different vineyards. The grapes are pressed and then fermented in Stainless steel vats using the winemaker’s desired blend of yeasts to bring out the chosen flavors.

Age the wine, again in Stainless steel, just long enough for the flavors to balance, then bottle it and ship it to Costco.

The alcohol content is a mild 12.5%, the vineyards must be in a cool climate location.

The Kirkland Signature Ti Point Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2025 Tasting Notes

The color is almost clear, but it picks up gold highlights in the light. The nose is citrus, spice, melon, and tropical fruit. Along with grapefruit, Green apple, and a soft floral note. The Kirkland Signature Ti Point Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2025 is smooth, balanced, and tasty.

This Sauvignon Blanc tastes like pineapple, lemonade, spice, and lime mixed, then tropical fruit, ripe peach, and pears, with coconut milk.

The acidity is right in the pocket.

The Summary

  • The Kirkland Signature Ti Point Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2025 is smooth, linear, and delicious.
  • Past NZ Sauv Blanc were riots of flavors all competing with each other. They were fun to drink.
  • The new style Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is taking cues from the Loire Valley Sauv Blanc and is the better for it.
