The Kendall-Jackson Vintner’s Reserve Brut Cuvée is a wine I found on sale for $8, while the going internet price is closer to $20.
The Story

Kendall-Jackson is a family-owned wine company in business since 1982, and it has a truly impressive brand portfolio. Click on the link; they have a wine for every price point and taste.
This Bubbly is Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and French Colombard produced in the Charmat method, the same method used in Prosecco.
French Colombard (grown in California) is a blending grape used to make Cognac.
The Charmat Method is where the 2nd fermentation (where the bubbles are introduced) occurs in large pressurized vats.
The Traditional Method has 2nd fermentation in each of the actual bottles.
The Charmat Method is a quicker process and has less pressure inside each bottle than the Traditional Method Bubbly, and tends to be brighter and more approachable.
The alcohol content is 11%. And Brut indicates that this is a dry Bubbly.
The Kendall-Jackson Vintner’s Reserve Brut Cuvée Tasting Notes
The color is a pale gold with vigorous bubbles. The nose is crisp and clean; there are scents of grapefruit, lemon, Green apple, and a hint of spice. Followed by herbs and melon. The Kendall-Jackson Vintner’s Reserve Brut Cuvée is full of flavor, not Prosecco-like at all.
This Sparkling wine tastes like green apple and stone fruit, honey, grapefruit, lemon, and a little spice.
The acidity is well-controlled and lets the flavors unfold.
The Summary
- The Kendall-Jackson Vintner’s Reserve Brut Cuvée is a great bargain at $7.99 (Binny’s Chicago)
- It has an interesting flavor, definitely not a cookie-cutter Bubbly.
- I’m not sure I’m comfortable paying the full $20, but it’s an excellent sale pickup.
