The Story

Specially Selected Touraine Sauvignon Blanc 2025

Aldi’s Specially Selected series of wines are carefully chosen wines from some of the world’s best grape growing regions.

You may think that Sauvignon Blanc is originally from New Zealand, but its actual home is France, both the Loire Valley and Bordeaux.

In Bordeaux, Sauvignon land is mixed with a little Semillon and is called Bordeaux Blanc, these wines can e some of the most expensive wines.

Sancerre is a town in the Loire Valley which has a reputation for outstanding Sauvignon Blanc wines. I am happy with regular Loire Valley Sauv Blanc wines, they can be sunshine in a bottle.

Somewhere in between Sancerre and regular Sauvignon Blanc is Touraine.

Touraine is located in the middle section of the Loire Valley and is sometimes referred to a “Baby Sancerre”, since it has many of the qualities at often half the price.

Aldi does not offer production notes, but it is a young Sauvignon (2025 vintage) so we know what to expect. A bright, juicy, extremely tasty wine.

The alcohol content is a mild in this day and age 12.5%.
