Hey, welcome. It's Domain Dave again from cheapwinefinder.com. Like always, actually since 2008, actually. Podcast not as long, but the website. And today we've got a uh well, it's starting to get warm. And today we've got a uh Trader Joe's wines from the south of France. Uh Paz d'Ac. Actually, it's uh $8.99, and it's not 750 milliliters, it's one whole liter. So you're getting about 25% more. I think that's the math. And it's the La Beau Sud Sauvion Blanc Vermentino 2025. Uh the Beau Sud translates to the Pretty South. And this is the Mediterranean Ocean, the Pyrenees Mountains. Think of that. Uh, it's inside the Languedac-Rousselon growing region, which is the largest growing region in France, and it's probably the one that's written about the least, but that's okay because that's where all the value wines come from. But there are some high-end regions there, there are some pricey wines, but you get a lot of good wines at a good price. So I'm gonna take a sip. Yeah, it's a summer sipper. $8.99. You can't beat it. A liter bottle. It's kind of a pretty label, nothing fancy. Put it on ice, get the ice bucket out, the keep it keep it chilled, and you're happy. Sauvignon Blanc, you know, French Sauvignon Blanc, too. Lord Valley, also from Bordeaux, uh, Savion Blanc is uh Bordeaux Blanc up there in Bordeaux, and Vermentino. Vermentino might be a wine you you're not that familiar with. It's a wonderful wine. Half of the wines which I just learned today comes from Sardinia, and it just dawned on me I couldn't point out Sardinia on a map, you know, if it was a the one million dollar question. I think it's over butt air, but I'm not sure. But uh Vermentino is one of those grapes that is not unlike Savillon Blanc, but it isn't Sauvignon Blanc, and this one's got more flowers in there and more um it has some like sugary fruit, but without being sweet, it's it's kind of a really nice effect. And you put the two of them together this with the tropical fruit from Sauvignon Blanc and this kind of uh lemon curd and uh sugary spice, good acidity. I'm gonna take a sip. This is a $9 wine. I mean, there was a time when uh wines could be acid bombs. I mean, we've doing this in 2008, and and you would be popping in acids after you're done with a good wine. But um seems to have gone away. People seem to have gotten the hang of it, which is fine with me. Um I kind of like it better that way. Uh not having an upset stomach for the rest of the night. I bet you could eat, but if you eat with it too, that you know, you if you have uh small um small dishes of cheese, whatever, just some little things that nibble on as you drink this stuff, all the better. And like I said, this is a summer sipper. A liter bottle, put it on ice, get some glasses out there, sit uh in the shade and just laze the day away. It's drinking. This is 12% alcohol. So it's not one of those wines that after you get up, you kind of like fall down again. Take another sip. And it's not, it's just a really pretty wine. Good flavor, good mouthfeel. It's slightly syrupy on the mouthfeel, which gives it that uh I don't know if anybody's had canned peaches lately, but that's in syrup. That kind of feel, but not that sweetness, nothing like that at all. This is balanced, it's not a sweet wine, doesn't need to be, it's got enough flavor without the sugar. 12% alcohol means there's not a lot of sugar in the wine. Just because it's naturally made. Uh, Trader Joe's did a Paul Moss wine, well, still on the shelves. That too was uh Sauvignon Blanc Vermentino. I think that was more like $12, $13. And this wine is from the same town. It might be, there might be some some blending of who made what there. I don't know. The back labels don't say anything about it where Paul Moss put his name on his wine. Just took another sip. It's one of those wines where just taking another sip is the way it is. I mean, you're it's got the acidity, but not lip smacking, but it's got the acidity that gets you to the point where you know what you want. I mean, it's there. You got your glass in your hand, there's no reason not to. The flavors are really nice. Under 10 bucks. Again, I'm dating myself, but I can um recall a time anything under 10 bucks was like, oh no, I'm going in. There's gonna be something wrong. Hopefully, it's not too bad. This is a perfectly perfectly good wine. You can you can spend more, and you can actually like more expensive wine. That's you know, that's that's a strong possibility, and there's nothing wrong with that. But you should be happy with this $8.99 liter of Sauvignon Blanc Vermentino. Two really good summer grapes, and even in the wintertime, it's fine. I would pair this with um fancy salads. Uh, what do I what else did I write about? I said um pasta and white sauce. Uh it's got enough acidity to cut through anything, and um spicy Asian. So there you go. Le Beau Sud Savion Blanc Vermentino 2025. It's a young wine. You're gonna want to um drink it sooner or later. If you buy it, you know, drink it that week. I mean, or if you've got plans for the next, you know, the immediate future. But these are one of those wines that the um the young, I mean, the sooner you drink it, the better it is. It's bright and lively in your glass. It'll lose some of that bright and lively if you sit around for two years. So don't do that. So there you go. This is the uh, what did I say? The low uh La Beaucea, the beautiful south. Sabion Blanc Vermentino Blend 2025, Trader Joe's uh $8.99 for a liter bottle. Summertime's here, and the wine is right. So, adios, keep it cheap. Bye bye.
