Hey, welcome again. Domain Dave, cheapwine, binder.com. And we've got a rare wine today, a new wine from Trader Joe's. There are few and far between. Should be a few more coming since the holidays aren't that far away. And what we have is the $7.99 Brazal Alberino 2025. Albarino is a grape from Spain and Portugal with a different spelling, slightly different spelling. Most of it is from the Atlantic coast side, uh north uh west Spain and and Portugal, which is all coastal. This isn't from there, and one of the reasons why it's 799, I would uh surmise, is this this is from the East Coast. This is from an AV, or not AVA, a D O from um Spain, which is the I'll probably misspell, I mean mispronounce everything. It's the Castos del Sigre, which is near Catalonia, um north of Barcelona, and uh it's um it's a brand from uh Cordonu, which is uh a well-respected uh Spanish cava producer, and this is one of their brands. Um I think they sell to other companies like store brand type of thing. So it's from a good producer, it's and it's a um it's a grape that's a little out of where it I mean the the more expensive Alberinos on the other side of Spain, but this isn't expensive, this is a $7.99 Alberino, and so it doesn't matter where it comes from. Not as much anyway, but it's uh the results are pretty good. I'm gonna take a sip. I mean, there is parallels to the uh West Coast California because a Cabernet from uh Napa is gonna be a whole lot more expensive than a Cabernet from Lodi, which is only you know a short drive away to the south and to the east, two different locations, even though both are really drinkable, there's a big price difference. So we're getting a really nice Alberino. So, what's an Alberino? Alberino is actually a really nice wine. It might be, if you want a quick and easy definition of it, what it is, it's kind of a cross between Savion Blanc and a Pinot Garillo, maybe. It's well really well rounded. You get stone fruit, you're gonna get apricot. Um I got a little bit of honey, I got a little bit of grapefruit. Um, not a touch of city, a nice, just a nice amount of city to keep it all rolling around. The city gives the wine structure and allows the flavors, uh, backbone to unfold, and they all do. It's got an interesting flavor. It's kind of a dark color, kind of a I I described that as a dull gold, but you know, a lot, it's a lot more yellowish than a lot of white wines are nowadays, especially a young white wine. I'm taking another sip. This is I don't know if it's exactly a young wine. A young wine is a wine that you need to drink within the first maybe three years of release. That's when it's at its peak. Aging them doesn't do them any good at all. All it's gonna do is um lose a bit of its shine. So this is a wine that you want to pick up now and drink. You know, holding it back anytime doesn't do you any good. And it's uh there's no production notes. But it's probably unoked, it's probably stainless steel, though it doesn't have to be. There's other ways of uh fermenting wine, especially in Europe and Italy and those places, that you don't get a lot of in California. You get some places, but so this is a this is a quick and easy wine, you know. You ferment it, um, use your yeast to bring the flavors you want out, whatever way you're doing the ferment fermentation to bring out what you want, and then you you bottle it and you age it for a short period of time. This is a 2025, it didn't they didn't they didn't age it for that long a time because it had to had to cross the ocean and had to get to just distributions and it had to get Trader Joe's stores, and it's only 2026. Um it's a young wine, so it's still gonna be right, bright and fruit forward. And it's and it is and it sips well, has a nice mouthfeel, it's kind of a viscous feeling. Does a really nice job. It's it's it actually drinks better than $7.99. That even though $7.99 under $10 wines are drinking really well nowadays. I mean, there's a whole bunch of wines that are like, that's pretty good. And this is pretty good. I'm gonna look take another sip and wrap it up. If you're not drinking Alberinos, you should be. If you like white wines, if you like if you like Savion Blanc, if you like um California Chardonnays, which are kind of fun to drink, not overly oak, but got good flavor. If you like Pinot Grigio, if you like a good maybe rush uh West um not Western um Columbia Valley um Riesling, this falls under that category. It's just and it has some kind of a all uh flavor palette. This would work at Thanksgiving on a lot of foods. Got a nice label, it's kind of flowers uh growing, it's a pretty flabel. Alberino, no one will ever know you paid eight bucks except you, because in this day and age, saving a couple bucks is a good thing. So, adios, keep it cheap. This is Domain Dave, and that was the Rizal Alberino 2025. It's B R I S A L L. And I'll be talking to everybody in a couple of days. Adios, keep it cheap.
