Trader Joe’s $7.99-Revelation Pays D’Oc Chardonnay 2024

Hey there, welcome. This is uh domain day for cheapwinefinder.com. Another podcast for um value price wine we wrote up and put on the cheapwinefinder.com website where we get photographs and links and that type of stuff over there. Here we talk about it. It's sometimes it's just more fun that way. So we've got a Trader Joe's wine. Uh Trader Joe's hasn't had the most new wines ever, and this isn't actually a new wine. Um, the Revelation brand uh from France is one that they've had for a number of years. This is the Revelation Paz d'Iac Chardonnay 2024. Paz Diac is basically a wine, and there well, there's it's an IGP wine. IGP, there's AOC, AOP, depending on how you if it's just Brant's AOC, if it's European Union, it's AOP. And that's the Grand Cruz and the Crew and those wines. And right below it is IGP, which is usually a certain territory, certain boundary, and it has less uh rules and regulations than the AOC. Because AOC once once you get up to Grand Cru and blah blah blah, it gets pretty strict. What can be that, what can what those wines are. So this is basically a wine from a certain designation, either sold in stores or sold at at the winery's location, you know, a wine shop there. So I don't know if that was always the designation for that, but it is now because there's you know Casco, Aldi, um Trader Joe's, and even they go into hospitality. There are hotel chains that have their own brands, restaurant chains that have their own uh wine brands. Just took a sip. So we we have um $7.99. Oh, that it opened up a little bit. Um $799 Chardonnay from France. Uh this was Badet Clement's um family-owned husband and wife team run it. Um been around since 1995, but they changed the name to Delonnay. I'm not sure how to uh it still says Bonet Clement on the label, but it's just a name change, it's still the still the husband and wife team. So you're getting a family-owned eight-buck Trader Joe's wine, which is pretty good. An IGP for a value priced wine is is good. I mean, those IGP wines are because they have less standards in in both the vineyard and the production, can they can make them at a at a value price. Where like a a cheap, really cheap Bordeaux wine kind of has you thinking, like, why is it so cheap? Because you can sell Bordeaux wines for more, why not sell for more? And Taylor said, this is good. It's got bright acidity, it's got nice flavors. Um the wine, um, the back label says there was a hint of oak. And they name some flavors, and usually the rounded flavors mean there was um malactic fermentation, which takes the uh original tart um sitting in the grapes, and and exchange it or it ferments it into a rounder um tasting grape, so it's more fruit than citrus, maybe. And sometimes they don't have to do the entire juice one way or the other. They can do some of this and some of that, and then combine them. But there's a nice roundness, there's a little bit of a creamy feeling in there, and it's just all the regular, you know, you get the peaches and the pears and the green apple and the lemon, and maybe that they got a little bit of a huskier lemon, like a Meyer lemon. Bam, took a I took a third sip. It's um, it's a really nice wine. I had a chill in the bottle, and it's I'm losing it, but it still tastes great. So there you go. It's um eight bucks for a French Chardonnay from a family-owned winery. This wine isn't their name is on it, but it's not on their website. Um which is good. I mean, it means that they you put you always want to see the wine where you put their name on the box. You know, because of legal reasons, a lot of California wines like um infiltrated those that that for uh end up being uh store brands. There's like so many shell companies in the middle of it, and it's not because they don't want to do that for the most part, it's just because of legal reasons, and often I mean a wine uh a winery that wants to sell you $30 wines doesn't want people to know that they're selling eight dollar Trader Joe's wine. But here's an IGP has the aqua. It's supposed to be that price. Another sip, we'll take the fourth sip. Yeah, it tastes great. It's um it's smooth, crisp, and creamy. Um it's doing just fine for me. So there you go. I still have that amateur county Zimpandel coming up, and I've got a couple other things planned um in the next few days so we can so we can get it to the end of August. Hopefully in September, new releases start opening up when it cools off, and we can start getting um you know new ones. It's always fun to do the new ones because you never know what you're gonna get. But there you go. This is the Revelation Paz the Axe Shard Night 2024, $7.99, Trader Joe's. Well made, tastes good.
