Marqués de la Concordia Cava MM Special Selection Brut 2022
This is a Bubbly from the heart of Cava country about 40 miles south of Barcelona.
It is from a producer whoa has made Cava since the 1880s.
As a vintage Cava, it is from a vintage in the vineyard that is deemed to be exceptional.
So, we have an experienced producer making Cava from very, very good grapes, at a bargain Costco price.
This bargain Bubbly!

Hey,
Domain
Dave
here
for
cheapwinefinder.com.
As
always,
um
made
a
Costco
stop
and
I
picked
up
a
um
kava.
Kava's
sometimes
the
uh
forgotten
sparkling
wine
bubbly.
It's
made
the
same
way
as
champagne
and
in
most
of
California,
Northern
California's
sparkling
wines.
But
it's
always
a
little
more,
well
a
lot
more
economical
than
um
than
champagne.
So
what
we
have
here
is
the
Marquis
di
La
Concordia,
got
that
out,
Kava
MM
Special
Selection
Route
2022.
It
is
a
vintage
dated
kava.
Most
uh
even
in
champagne,
the
the
starter
wines,
I'll
call
them,
are
all
non-vintage.
They
will
take
different
vintages
and
blend
them
together
to
ensure
that
you
get
the
same
experience
every
year
you
drink
it.
They
want
to
they
want
to
get
their
style
in
your
head,
and
that's
what
they
do.
But
in
special
vintages,
especially
in
Champagne,
where
the
expensive
stuff
are
all
vintage
dated,
but
if
it's
a
special
year
in
the
vineyard,
they
will
make
a
wine
that
records
what
that
was,
and
this
is
a
special
year.
Hold
on.
Marquis
de
la
Concordia
is
a
Rioja,
um
which
is
over
by
the
French
border,
as
well
as
a
um
Penades
uh
Kava
producer,
and
they're
about
40
miles
southeast
of
um
Barcelona,
and
that's
the
heart
of
the
Kaba
district.
They're
supposed
to
be
like
in
this
village
in
that
area,
there's
80
different
producers,
and
these
people
have
been
around
since
the
1880s.
So
this
is
a
producer
that's
been
doing
it
for
140
years
in
the
heart
of
Caba
country,
so
that
part
is
taken
care
of.
They
know
what
they're
doing,
and
one
of
the
funny
things
is
I
was
trying
to
figure
out
because
this
is
a
Costco
wine,
and
I
don't
think
the
producer
was
quite
prepared
to
send
it
to
the
United
States
because
there's
not
a
lot
of
information
in
English
about
it.
And
they
also
have
a
uh
a
root
selection
that's
not
a
2022,
it's
just
a
regular
non-vintage.
So,
what
is
what
I
don't
really
know.
But
it's
$12.99
at
Costco,
and
they
only
have
a
what's
that
a
15%
markup
no
matter
what,
and
most
wine
shops
have
could
be
100%,
could
could
be
200%
markup,
could
be
less,
could
be
25,
40,
50,
but
never
15%.
So
this
pricing
is
pretty
good.
And
I
was
saying
that
uh
one
of
major
wine
uh
reviewers
gave
it
92
points
and
the
other
gave
it
86
point,
which
is
kind
of
mid.
So
this
might
be
a
wine
that
not
everybody
likes.
I
like
it.
I'm
gonna
take
a
sip.
It's
a
brute,
which
means
it's
dry.
A
little
bit
viscous
in
the
in
the
on
the
mouthfeel.
It's
got
firm
flavors,
it's
got
lemon
lime,
but
not
not
sweet,
not
like
Dr.
Pepper
or
anything.
Not
that
I
don't
mean
Dr.
Pepper,
I
mean
uh
7
Up
is
uh
I'm
dating
myself
a
7
Up
um
lemon
lime
flavor.
It's
got
it's
got
green
apple,
it's
got
dry
pineapple,
it's
got
those
kind
of
wines,
but
it's
kind
of
firm
in
its
in
its
on
your
mouth.
The
flavors
hit
you,
but
not
they're
they're
all
bounced,
but
they're
kind
of
um
they're
not
wishy-washy,
let's
put
it
that
way.
So
there
we
go.
This
is
a
really
nice
$12.99
vintage
dated.
You
don't
always
get
vintage
dated
wines.
I'm
seeing
the
wine
industry
now
is
down
15%
for
several
years
in
a
row.
And
I
just
picked
up
a
um,
which
I'm
gonna
talk
about
in
the
next
few
days,
a
um
prosecco,
a
rose
prosecco
from
uh
from
Italy.
That's
also
vintage
dated.
How
often
do
you
get
that?
We're
getting
these
wines
that
are
usually
more
expensive,
come
down
to
the
to
our
to
our
vintage,
to
our
cheap
winefinder
price
range.
Because
you
you
know,
getting
a
vintage
dated
wine
is
always
a
good
thing.
That
means
the
grapes,
since
they
decided
that
they
should
do
it,
that
means
the
grapes
were
exceptional.
And
since
they've
been
making
the
wine
for
150
years,
that
part
of
it
was
pretty
much
like
black
work.
So
if
you
like
their
style,
you're
gonna
like
the
wine.
They're
not
gonna
mess
it
up.
I'm
gonna
take
another
sip
because
it's
because
value
price
um
bubbly
often
has
just
that
right
amount
of
acidity
that
makes
you
want
to
go.
I
should
take
another
sip.
And
I
should.
Yeah.
This
is
bargain,
this
is
summer
bubbly.
Put
it
on
ice,
it's
made
the
same
way
as
champagne.
I
don't
know
how
long
the
second
triage,
that's
this
where
the
bubbles
come
in,
the
second
fermentation.
In
Spain,
it's
a
minimum
of
nine
months.
They
can
go
above
nine
months,
but
it's
just
a
minimum
of
nine
months.
Where
in
uh
champagne
it's
gotta
be
a
year
and
a
half.
So
there
we
go.
It's
warmer
down
in
Spain,
so
it
doesn't
need
the
long,
long
uh
second
fermentation.
But
this
is
really
well
balanced,
sleek,
tasty,
inexpensive
bubbly
from
a
producer's
been
around.
You
know,
they're
not
a
flyby
night,
uh
they
started
making
wine
10
years
ago.
So
if
you're
in
Casco
and
you're
looking
for
a
good
bubbly
for
the
summer,
check
it
out.
I
recommend
it.
Saudios,
this
is
the
Marquis
di
Concordia
Cava
MM
Special
Selection
Brute
2002.
That's
a
lot
to
say.
So
Adios,
keep
a
cheap
domain
day,
cheap
wine
finder.
Bye
bye.
