The Maison Barboulot Cabernet Sauvignon Syrah 2024 is a $5.99 Trader Joe’s import exclusive. It is sourced from grapes in southwest France.
The Story
This is a 50-50 blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah taken from vineyards located between the Black Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea.
Designated as an IPG or Pays d’Oc wine, which is a level lower than an AOC wine. These wines have fewer rules and regulations to adhere to. They are wines that represent the growing area, but are not as stringently regulated.
The Pays d’Oc is also the area that supplies the French people with reliable value-price wine.

The Maison Barboulot Cabernet Sauvignon Syrah 2024 Tasting Notes
The color is a dark black cherry red with very black highlights. The nose is ripe black and red berries, spice, herbs, raspberries, cranberry and a soft floral edge. The Maison Barboulot Cabernet Sauvignon Syrah 2024 is smooth and tasty; it does not taste like a $5.99 wine.
This Red Blend tastes like blackberry, cherry, and a slap of spice, cooling plum, a bit of herbs, stone fruit, and pomegranate. There are some slightly sour flavors along with ripe fruit flavors.
The tannins are sweet, and the acidity is in the pocket.
