Kirkland Signature Russian River Pinot Noir 2024

This is more of an update than a new review. Here is a link to the CWF description of the 2023 vintage.

The Kirkland Signature series of wines is similar to Trader Joe’s Reserve wines or Aldi’s Specially Selected. Wines from elite growing regions at value prices.

The producers of these wines are usually kept secret since they often undercut the producers’ own wines. But Costco often mentions the wineries involved, and in this case, the winemaker, Alison Crowe.

Alison Crowe is the winemaker for Plata Partners. Plata Partners is a huge wine company with thousands of acres of vines. Plata Partners may be involved, or this could be simply an Alison Crowe Project.

The Russian River Valley in Sonoma, California, runs parallel to the Pacific Ocean, and the lower portion is well known as a top Chardonnay and Pinot Noir growing region.

A value-priced wine from a noted AVA gives you a taste of the region without the price tag.

The alcohol content for this Pinot Noir is 14.5%, which can be high for a Pinot Noir wine.
