The Kirkland Signature Brut Champagne (2025) is available for $22.99, up from $19.99 in past years. This Champagne is produced by Manuel Janisson, a fifth-generation winemaker in Champagne, France.
The Story
Manuel Janisson had his own Champagne House in Verzenay, with multiple vineyards and many designated Crus. He sold his holdings to LVMH, a high-end portfolio of some of the most prestigious brands. They own Louis Vuitton and Dior, among others, and in wine they have Dom and Moet again among others.
You may not be familiar with Manuel Janisson, but he was a player.
The grape blend used with the Kirkland Signature Brut Champagne (2025) is a little out of the ordinary. The lead grape is Pinot Meunier, followed by Pinot Noir, and then Chardonnay. Typically, Pinot Meunier is the 3rd grape used, more of a supporting player.
Since Janisson sold his holdings in Champagne, the grapes are from contracted growers. This is common in Champagne, where the big Champagne Houses typically have few estate vineyards and rely on growers for their Bubbly.
This Champagne conforms with all the rules and regulations of the region, and it may be more value-priced, but met all the quality standards.
The alcohol content is 12%.
The Kirkland Signature Brut Champagne (2025) Tasting Notes

This Champagne tastes like Green apple, a slap of spice, melon, nectarine, and a hint of vanilla. Followed by pink grapefruit, a little tropical fruit, and crusty bread.
The acidity is controlled and allows the flavors to fully unfold.
The Summary
- The Kirkland Signature Brut Champagne (2025) is fine; it sips very well. Don’t fret the low price, paying more in this day and age, when you don’t have to, is a fools errand.
- The Pinot Meunier, as the lead grape, brings out different flavors.
- Have a luxury NYE at a not-so-luxury price.
