The Story

Honey Moon Viognier 2024

The Honey Moon Viognier 2024 is produced for Trader Joe’s by some faction of Delicato Family Wines, which also makes Gnarly Head and recently purchased Coppola Wines. They make the “Moon” series of wines for Trader Joe’s, including the Moon X Pinot Noir.

Viognier was originally grown in the Northern Rhone Valley of France. It is typically used as a blending grape. It has an expressive, floral scent and bright acidity that brings a little oomph to wines that are challenged in that regard.

It is one of the few White wines that is blended with red wine, for the reasons stated above.

The label shows California as the origin of the vineyards for the Viognier grapes, but Delicato is located in Lodi and Sonoma and has holdings in the Central Coast.

We reviewed the 2019 vintage of the Honey Moon Viognier and found it to be a terrific summer wine, put a good chill on the bottle and sip away.

The alcohol content is 13.0%
