The Story

Barbanera inBianco Sangiovese White 2024

Barbanera is a family-owned winery founded in Tuscanny in 1938. This wine is part of their Barbanero Celebration line of wines that are new wines that have roots in the wineries history.

The Barbanera inBianco Sangiovese White 2024 is produced from the Sangiovese Red grape that is the leading grape of the region.

This is a Red Sangiovese grape made like a White wine. After the grapes are pressed the grape skins are removed, the juice gets no skin contact.

Red wine will have extended skin contact, sometimes weeks. Rosé will have skin contact just long enough to get that pink color, this Sangiovese gets no skin contact.

The skin adds tannins and other chemicals naturally occurring inside the grape. The tannins affect the flavor of the grape, Rosé wines with minimal tannins have a very different flavor profile for the sam grape varietal.

The inBianco is 100% Sangiovese and is fermented and aged in stainless steel vats and sees no oak barrel treatment.

This will be a very different taste of Tuscan Sangiovese and definitely not a Red wine, not exactly a Rosé

The alcohol content is 12.5%.
