The La Granja 360 Cava (The Farm 360) is a $6.99 Trader Joe’s import exclusive in the US, I believe this brand of wine is available in other counties. La Granja 360 has a line of affordable Spanish bang for the buck wines. The winery preaches social responsibility and they strive to reduce their footprint in farming and winemaking practices, as well as an adoption and sanctuary program for farm animals that are no longer useful on regional farms. This is a certified organic Bubbly.

La Granja 360 Cava

The La Granja 360 Cava is with the same production techniques as used with Champagne, The grapes used here are Xarel·lo and Parellada. There are typically three grapes used to produce Cava, but the Macabeo grape is not part of the blend.

We reviewed this wine about a year and a half ago and are doing an update to talk about Sparkling wine cocktails. Mimosas (orange juice), Bellini (peach puree), and a splash of Chambord mixed into an inexpensive Bubbly can turn a value-priced Sparkling wine into an occasion. You do not need expensive Bubbly for these drinks, but you do need a Sparkling wine with good flavor.

The La Granja 360 Cava is a tasty, fun Bubbly, it may not be expensive but it is well-made. Cava is produced in the Catalonian part of eastern Spain, Barcelona is the main city. The grapes used are indigenous Catolunian grapes. Champagne may be Paris Bubbles, Cava is Barcelona Bubbles. The alcohol content is 11.5%.

The La Granja 360 Cava Tasting Notes

The color is a golden yellow with extremely tiny bubbles. The nose is lemons, apples, melons, spring flowers, pear, and peach, with a touch of baking bread. The La Granja 360 Cava has balanced acidity (some value Cavas can be acid bombs) with sleek, subtle flavor.

This Cava tastes like apple (core and all) peach, Anjou pear, and lime. The mid-palate brings coconut milk, lemon, stone fruit, and a salty nutty sensation. This is a well-balanced Cava.

The Summary

  • The La Granja 360 Cava is an excellent every day Bubbly. Watching Netfix with a bowl of popcorn, this Bubbly will fit right in.
  • If you are thinking about a round of pre-meal Sparkling wine cocktails before the Easter diner this is a solid choice. Chambord would make this a classy cocktail.
  • Plus it is $6.99 and Organic!!
