The Lazy Bones Paso Robles Cabernet Franc 2020 is a $6.99 Trader Joe’s exclusive. It has been $6.99 for years we first reviewed the 2013 vintage, here s a link. This Red was produced by the Central Coast Wine Warehouse back then.
Today the producer on the back label is Miller Family Wine Company. It isn’t that much of a change Miller Family wine owns the Central Coast Wine Warehouse. They have been farming in California since 1871 and have had vineyards in Paso Robles since 1971. They own some of the best vineyards in the Central Coast AVA.
Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc are the parents of Cabernet Sauvignon. Cabernet Franc is one of the approved grapes for the Red Bordeaux blend of France. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are the two main grapes with Cabernet Franc the 3rd most used grape. Cab Franc is also known as Chinon in the Loire Valley of France.
The Lazy Bones Paso Robles Cabernet Franc 2020 sells for $12 to $14 in places where Trader Joe’s cannot sell wine. So if you think $6.99 is too cheap for a bottle of wine you can always pay more for the same wine.
There is no technical information available for the Lazy Bones Paso Robles Cabernet Franc 2020, but it has always had an interesting label. It is a black and white drawing of a nude laying on a pillow-strewn bed. Very artsy for a seven-dollar wine. The alcohol content is 14.4%.
