Opaline Pinot Noir Brut Rosé (2025)

The Story

This Sparkling Wine is designated a Vin de France, the bottom classification for French wine. This typically means that some of the grapes come from vineyards outside the prescribed growing regions or from more than one.

The producer is a branch of the GCF Group, a large French wine company. From what I can tell, this is a wine from a Commune. That is a large group of farmers with smaller vineyards that group together to pool their resources and grapes to make wine.

The label for the looks to be Opaline Pinot Noir Brut Rosé (2025)for American consumers since none of the information that a French label offers is contained here. The general location or better of the vineyards is a part of the French labels along with production details important to the region.

Is this Bubbly made in the Traditional-style (Champagne) or the Charmat Method (Prosecco)?

What we do know is that the bottle is prism-cut and attractive and the Bubbly is a pretty maker/pink color.

This Bubbly uses 100% Pinoy Noir grapes and Brut indicates that this is a dry wine. This is a non-vintage Bubbly.

The alcohol content is 11%.

The Opaline Pinot Noir Brut Rosé (2025) tasting Notes

The color in the bottle shows amber in the glass, it is very pink. The nose is a little shy, there is some cherry, a hint of cream, some minerality, and a light floral edge. The Opaline Pinot Noir Brut Rosé (2025) may lack a little in complexity, but makes up for that in flavor.

This French Bubbly tastes like black cherry, cranberry, a little soft spice, hint of cream, and plum. This Bubbly is fruit-forward but not out of balance,

The acidity is well-controlled.

The Summary

  • The Opaline Pinot Noir Brut Rosé (2025) may not have much of a resume, but it packs a wallop for $7.99.
  • This Bubbly sips well. It does not do a lot, but what is does it does well.
  • The bottle (and Bubbly inside) would do well as a part of your Valentine’s Day.
