Suscol is a native word meaning wet and green and is a popular location word in the area. The silk-screened label shows a map of the vineyard. the gold color is the block where the grapes were chosen.

There is Suscol Springs, and Suscol Mountain some of these are Cakebread Estate vineyards. Chalone sold Suscol Creek to Premier Pacific Vineyards. Not that it matters too much, they are all excellent, high-end vineyards.

The winemaker is Jeff McBride who is a highly experienced winemaker who seems to have worked with everyone in Napa and Sonoma.

The color is a very dark, almost black cherry red. The nose is extracted dark berries, oak spice, raspberry, plum, a little bitter dark chocolate, and blackberry. This Cabernet Sauvignon tastes like blackberry, licorice, jammy raspberry, a slap of interesting spice, and then cooling plum. The mid-palate brings blood orange, blueberry, tart cranberry, and a dash of mocha.
