Freakshow Cabernet Sauvignon 2009

freakshow_cabFreakshow – I would really love to taste her. Every time we meet.

Michael David Winery – the Lodi guys who gave you Incognito, 6th Sense Syrah and Petite Petit have done it again with this beast Cab that you don’t take home to mother.

This Cab with just a splash of Petite Sirah hails from the famed Michael Phillips vineyard near the MD Winery itself, or as MD says “just a medicine ball’s throw” away.

I could almost smell the incense, wine and candles back in room 714, along with spicy cedar black fruits and black pepper.

I really love to taste her, so – you know – I did. Amazing black cherry, blackberry, vanilla and cassis that will never let your spirits down. And a long. ass. finish! This superfreak spent 22 months in French oak, so that finish that goes from your head down to your toenails is smooth tannins that turn this carnival sideshow strongman full of black fruit, full-bodied strength into an elegant, balanced freaky scene that’s waiting for you backstage with her girlfriends.

An amazing food wine – drink it with grilled meats or a pulled pork sandwich. And check out the label while you’re filling glasses – it’s an homage to circus sideshow performers that include Jo-Jo the Dog-Faced Boy and Siamese twins Daisy and Violet Hilton.
