The 19 Crimes Snoop Dogg Cali Smooth Red 2022 is a limited edition wine I found selling for $13.99. The 19 Crimes brand usually features wines from Australia, but Snoop Dogg (and Martha Stewart) wines are produced from grapes farmed in California.
The Story
The 19 Crimes Snoop Dogg Cali Smooth Red 2022 bottle does not show a vintage date, but the origin is California. The 19 Crimes website says this is a 2022 vintage, and the grapes came from the Lodi AVA.
The Tasting Notes PDF says this is a non-vintage wine with grapes from California, so take your pick.
The Red blend is 65% Petite Sirah, 30% ZInfandel, and 5% Merlot, all grapes that do very well in Lodi and elsewhere.
This is a limited-edition wine that features ripe grapes and French and American wood chips as oak flavoring.
The alcohol content is either 12.5% or 13% the 19 Crimes information can’t seem to come to an concensus
The 19 Crimes Snoop Dogg Cali Smooth Red 2022 Tasting Notes
The color is a pretty, see-through black cherry red. The nose is ripe red berries, light herbs, spice, oak spice, and lightly floral. 19 Crimes Snoop Dogg Cali Smooth Red 2022 does have a very smooth mouthfeel and ripe, rounded flavors.
This Red blend tastes like black cherry, plum, vanilla, a shot of blueberry, a little caramel, tart cranberry, and a little orange zest.
The tannins are sweet and the acidity is subdued.
The Summary
- The 19 Crimes Snoop Dogg Cali Smooth Red 2022 is just the ticket for folks who like their Red wine smooth and slightly sweet.
- Petite Sirah and Zinfandel can be spicy, but the spice takes a backseat here.
- This is a good “beginner” Red for people who are new to wine; it is full of flavor but short on tannins and acidity.
