The Maison No. 9 Rosé 2020 is a wine from Post Malone sourced from a vineyard in the south of France (Mediterranee IGP). There are Rosé vineyards and wineries all along the Mediterranean Coast in France, not just in Provence. IGP is a wine that does not conform to all the rules and regulations of the AOC (French wine regulators). Either a wine sourced from grapes outside the AOC boundaries or not made to all the AOC rules.

Maison No. 9 Rosé 2020

This is a wine that sells on the web for $16 to $25 but is selling at Trader Joe’s for $5.99. Rosé wines are seriously hot right now, so I don’t know why this wine is going for sell-out prices. I wasn’t all that interested in the Maison No. 9 Rosé 2020 at twenty bucks, but six bucks are more than right.

The story about Post Malone’s Maison No. 9 Rosé 2020 is three friends who were talking about wine and went to the south of France and made this Rosé happen. The grapes used in the blend are 25% Grenache, 15% Cinsault, 15% Syrah, and 15% Merlot.

The Maison No. 9 Rosé 2020 website is all about lifestyle and nothing about wine. I would expect a wine that lists $20+ to give a few details on how the grapes were grown and how the wine was produced. That may have been a mistake since this Rosé is now $5.99.

The winemaker is Alexis Cornu who is a top Cellar Manager for several estates in Provence. This looks to be a very easy-to-drink, tasty Rosé. The bottle is thin and long, with a glass stopper, so the presentation is eye-catching. The alcohol content is 12.%.

The Maison No. 9 Rosé 2020 Tasting Notes

The color is more amber than pink. The nose is a bouquet of ripe tart fruit, there is cherry, peach, apple, spice, lemonade, and softly floral. The Maison No. 9 Rosé 2020 is a crisp, light breezy Rosé with a bit of heft on the mid-palate.

This Rosé tastes like a stew of tart cherry, orange, Green apple, and peach (it sounds strange, but it works). The mid-palate cranberry, mixed with slightly rough spice, soft creamy texture, and tart, not sweet lemon/lime.

The acidity allows the flavors to unfold and sets your palate up for your next sip.

The Summary

  • The Maison No. 9 Rosé 2020 is the world’s greatest $5.99 Rosé and pretty decent at $22.
  • I doubt if this bargain is going to last long, so hurry over to TJ’s and pick up a couple.
