The Bear Bros Rosé 2021 is a $7.99 Aldi exclusive sourced from vineyards in California, but probably most, if not all, from the Monterey AVA. Bear Bros’ line of wines is made for Aldi by Scheid Family Vineyards which have multiple vineyards spread out over 70 miles of the Salinas Valley.
Scheid is known for estate-grown wines, but it is possible they used different sourcing for this Aldi exclusive wine. Scheid makes several labels for both Aldi and Trader Joe’s along with 49 of their labels.
Neither Aldi nor Scheid offers any details about the making of the Bear Bros Rosé 2021. We do not know which grape or grapes are used, we are not sure where the vineyards are located. We do know this is a young wine since it is a 2021 vintage in the late spring of 2022.
We do know the producer which is often more important than the grapes used and the location of the vineyards. Scheid Family Vineyards is an excellent winery with 50 years of experience. For a $7.99 Rosé, we will happily allow them to pick the grapes they wish to use.

The color is on the amber side of pink. The nose is delicate, with light red berries, a little tart citrus, and a touch of spice. The Bear Bros Rosé 2021 is exactly what I expected, a bright, crisp, flavorful Rosé.
This Rosé tastes like dried strawberry bits, tart cranberry, a shot of candy spice, and lemonade. The mid-palate brings raspberry and grapefruit. The acidity is solid, it gives the flavors room to unfold while setting up your palate for the next sip.
