The Charme de Loire Sauvignon Blanc 2021 is a wine from Domaine Jean-Marie Reverdy and Fils, a 4th generation family wine estate located near the town of Sancerre in the Loire Valley of France. Their estate wines are Sancerre (the leading Sauvignon Blanc growing area in the Loire Valley).
The Charme de Loire Sauvignon Blanc 2021 is part of their negociant line of wines. They have been offering Negociant wines since 2010. A negociant wine is a wine purchased from an existing winery and offered under a different label. These wines can then be sold at substantial savings.
Domaine Revedy obtains the wine after it has been pressed and fermented. They continue with the filtering and fining as well as bottling, basically everything a winery does to the wine after fermentation.
A small. well-respected 4th generation family winery in the Loire Valley knows exactly who to go to to find top-quality yet affordable Loire wine. I found the Charme de Loire Sauvignon Blanc 2021 for $10.99. I do not know how easy it will be to find this particular Sauvignon Blanc, these family-owned Loire wineries have a limited output capability.
Finding this wine is not essential, because of this little CWF wine rule: if a winery can produce excellent Sancerre (starts at $20 and goes up) they know how to produce delicious regular Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc. While I am aware that Sancerre is hugely popular and rightly so, a quality regular Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc can have you wondering why you are spending the extra money on Sancerre.
The Charme de Loire Sauvignon Blanc 2021 was produced with the French version of certified sustainably farmed and the alcohol content is a mild 12.5%.
The Charme de Loire Sauvignon Blanc 2021 Tasting Notes
The color is pale wheat yellow. The nose is a spring day in a bottle, it is floral with scents of peach, apple, lime, melon, light spice, pear, lemon curd, coconut, and a hint of tropical fruit. The Charme de Loire Sauvignon Blanc 2021 is light and delicate with appealing acidity.
This Sauvignon Blanc tastes like nectarine, peach, pear, dried pineapple bits, ripe apple, and lemon. The mid-palate adds faint tangerine, a bit of cream, a salty sensation, and tropical fruit. The acidity is attractive it beckons you to take the next sip.
