IGP is subject to few rules and regulations in the vineyard and the winery but represents the growing region. These wines are common in the value-priced range and can be rather expensive wines, too. The Languedoc runs from the Spanish border north, along the coast of the Mediterranean. Provence, which is the more famous Rosé producer, is just east of the Languedoc. While Provence is more well-known, the Languedoc makes more Rosé wine.
ALDI rarely offers any information on the making of their wines. I get it; they keep costs low, and paying someone to write technical notes probably will not add to the sales total. The back label says this is a dry Rosé, and it should be fruit-forward and well-balanced.
This is exactly the kind of wine that folks in France drink every day. ALDI is a European company and the Rosé-Vous? 2020 is probably sold in Europe as well as the US. ALDI has a sales reach farther than almost all other wine sellers; in the US, wine shops are regional at best. ALDI covers most of the wine-drinking world.
I know many people who think ALDI wine is too cheap and can not be any good. But folks in countries that have a glass with every meal do not spend much on each bottle. France, Italy, and Spain are the Kings of Cheap Wine. Most do not spend more than a few euros for each day’s wine.
Remember that these are wines they pair with the meals they cooked for the family. They drink cheap wine but inexpensive wine that they love and pair well with food. In the US, we think a wine needs to sell for $25 to be worthy of the dinner table, but that is more marketing than reality.
This is not a rant against expensive wines; they are often delicious and memorable. You often hear that the quality of wine is better today than at any time in history. That is not because expensive wine improved; it was always good. It is value-priced wine that has excelled. The alcohol content is 12%.

Rosé-Vous? 2020 Tasting Notes
The color is Barbi Doll pink with a strong amber tint. The nose is ripe red berries, green apple, soft spice, grapefruit, and a light floral edge. The Rosé-Vous? 2020 is a dry, delicate, tasty Rosé.
It starts with strawberry, a little apple (along with the apple core), lemon, tart cranberry, and spice. The mid-palate mirrors the wine’s main body but adds salty, nutty “on lees” sensation and smooth melon.
The acidity is well-balanced, it allows the flavors time to unfold, but otherwise stays out of the way.
The Summary
- The Rosé-Vous? 2020 is a fine $5.99 wine. It may not have the depth and layers of flavors like the more expensive Rosé, but what it does have is pretty good. This is a Rosé that hits above its price tag.
