2010 Chronic Cellars Dead Nuts Red

2010 Dead Nuts bottleWhen the supplier came to us with a sample bottle of this wine it was  one of the best wines I had tasted all year.  I’m not sure about is where the name of this wine came from, but there is nothing dead about it. I might have called it “The Balls!!,” but then they might not be able to sell it in the South!. Anyway this wine is a kick ass Zinfandel blend (57% Zin, 36% Tempranillo, 4% Petite Sirah and 3% Syrah). It is very dark ruby colored and opens with a fragrant blueberry bouquet with a hint of cherry vanilla. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, extremely well balanced, smooth, and elegant. The flavor profile is a delicious ripe boysenberry with a touch of ripe blackberry and black pepper mixed in. The finish is dry and it’s tingly tannins are nicely prolonged. This wine will take you Bar b que to new heights.  Whether you are having a steak rib or just hamburgers or pizza this is the Go-To wine.  As always there is a dark side only 28 cases will be available in Illinois, all of them from us and I have laid claim to 2 for myself so hurry to lay claim to 1 for yourself.
