The light red, see-through color on this pinot from Mendoza (Argentina) tricks you into thinking it’s going to be one of those wimpy, light-and-breezy pinots that do have their time and place, but you tend to avoid when you’re in the mood for a nice full body.
It smells of a barrel full of cherries and tastes like plums all over the place. Then – SMACK – this wine is robust, full-bodied, complex and balances the fruit with the tannins and the spice – it’s freakin’ awesome! Long-ass finish and you’re like “Way to round it out, Alfredo!”
Love your stuff so far.
