The 19 Crimes Snoop Dogg Cali Blanc 2021 is California Sauvignon Blanc, Cali Blanc is simply Snoop’s name for it. There is a history of calling this grape something other than Sauvignon Blanc. In the 1960s Robert Mondavi tried selling high-end Sauv Blanc and nobody was buying. In those days Sauvignon Blanc was the cheap stuff. He renamed the grape Fumé Blanc and sales took off.

The 19 Crimes Snoop Dogg Cali Blanc 2021 lists on the 19 Crimes webpage at $15, but should be found at wine retailers closer to ten bucks. There is a line of 19 Crimes Snoop Dogg-approved wines, a Rosé (perfect for Mother’s Day), a Sparkling wine, and a few Red wines sourced from California vineyards. !9 Crimes wine usually features Australian vines and the 19 Crimes are the offenses that could get you deported from England to Australia on a prison ship. There is a 19 Crimes Martha Stewart Chardonnay that is highly recommended.

There isn’t much technical information on this wine but the 19 Crimes website does say this is a Medium-Sweet wine. The typical Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand and other locations are Dry wines or not sweet. Though the sweet Sauvignon Blanc wines of Bordeaux are Sauternes and they can get very pricey.

So the 19 Crimes Snoop Dogg Cali Blanc 2021 has an unusual name and is sweeter than most Sauvignon Blanc in the price range, yet it is almost somehow historically correct. The alcohol content is a reasonable 12.9%.

The 19 Crimes Snoop Dogg Cali Blanc 2021 Tasting Notes

The color is pale wheat yellow. The nose is melon, lemon, apple, lime, peach, pear, stone fruit, and very floral. The 19 Crimes Snoop Dogg Cali Blanc 2021 is heavier on the palate than the 12.9% alcohol would suggest and is definitely not influenced by New Zealand or Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc.

This Sauvignon Blanc tastes like green apple, melon, spice, peach, and Anjou pear. The mid-palate adds dried apricot, a little tropical fruit, and guava. This may be rated a medium-sweet wine, but the acidity does a good job of balancing the sweetness level. I notice the lip-smacking acidity more than I do the sugar content. The sugar does give the fruit some nice rounded characteristics.

The Summary

  • I am looking forward to whichever wine is added to this label, it should be fun, interesting, and a bargain.
  • The 19 Crimes Snoop Dogg Cali Blanc 2021 may be the best line of celebrity wines. Every wine is something unusual and carefully made.
